Lisa P. Burch, ACSW, LCSW
Lisa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Connecticut and a member of the national Academy of Certified Social Workers. She received her Bachelor's degree, majoring in Psychology from Trinity College in 1978 and her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago in 1981. She combines traditional psychotherapy including cognitive and behavioral approaches with more recently developed therapies including Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS). She offers individual and family psychotherapy primarily with adults. She specializes in anxiety, depression, co-dependency and trauma resolution. Lisa uses ego state (inner child) work and relaxation training strategies to assist clients in building inner strength and resources. She integrates the wisdom of Eastern philosophies and practices and other spiritual traditions in a nondenominational way to counteract the anxieties and frenetic pace of the Western world and build inner peace and connection to Spirit for herself and her clients. Additionally, Lisa is a Reiki Master/Teacher and a sound healer. She enjoys offering sound healing meditations with Tibetan singing bowls and drums as well as introducing tools such as the labyrinth for contemplative purposes. She is an active member of the Alliance For Holistic Living, working with other area practitioners and individuals to provide service and education to the community on integrative and holistic approaches to healing and wellness.
